I must admit, for the last few months, I have been guilty of working too hard on my internet marketing plans to make money online! Working all day and all night and more work on week-ends! I cannot help it! I like it so much… and I’m a little bit obsessed with trying to know everything. There is so much to learn, it is really easy to lose the well-balanced life.Â
However, I need time to rest, a day off or take a vacation once in a while.  Generally, people don’t suffer resting.  They welcome it with open arms! Me on the other hand, has difficulties taking a break… because, of my perception. The perception of somebody who is obsessed like me is… It is never done! I have to keep going!  Keep going until what… ???   Â
I have to accept the fact that it’s true… It will never be done! There so much to do. In a heart beat, I can make a list of 20 things I would want to do in the next 24 hours for this blog.   When these 20 things will be finished, I will make a new list of 20 things that will follow theses first actions.  It is a never ending story! I have to accept that I need to rest and take a  vacation once in a blue moon! ;-)   The work will be there after my break or my vacation. It doesn’t go anywhere!
Furthermore,  for illustrating my post… I am presently in a middle of a two weeks vacation.  Yes! You can laugh out loud! I am still working during my vacation.   However,  I know myself very well… I know that if I am stay at home for my holiday, I would end up working. So, in advance, I trick myself of scheduling some little trips out of the city to make sure that I will stop working at least a few days in a row.   It goes without saying, of course the computer stays at HOME! (But for now, this part is easy, I don’t have a laptop!)  Â
In the meantime, my plan is working like a charm. I had a few days off, went to visit some friends up north and treating myself to a spa. I have more trips for next week too.  If during my trips, I have access at a computer,  the control freak in me have to at least check my email… but that is it!  I need to draw a line somewhere!  ;-)Â
It’s good to change the paste, to be more relax, to be able to smell the roses! It’s good for my mind, my body and my soul!   In addtion,  I will be back in a more relax mind set and probably with new ideas!
Enjoy your vacation, I know I am enjoying mine!

To put it in basic terms, search engines partially work on the thought that if other websites are linking to your website then your site must be a good one and as a result it deserves a boost in rankings and when you think about it people only link to good sites not bad ones.

Link popularity stands for the amount of links that go back to your website. These are known as inbound links. These inbound links are placed on various other websites that share some of your key phrases, meaning they help to drive traffic to your website. This demonstrates that link popularity is an important aspect of the SEO process and a vital factor for getting your website into the top placements within the search engines. By building up link popularity you are helping your website gain a competitive page rank and is an aspect that should be considered as part of your online marketing strategy.
One thing that you should remember is that link popularity alone won’t get your website high up in the search engines; you need a full search engine marketing campaign for that but having good link popularity certainly does help. It should be noted that the process of link building can be difficult and some of the links that you will receive will do nothing to help your website. This is especially true if the page that you are linking to isn’t indexed. If you are using link popularity as a way of driving more traffic to your website then you need to make sure that the page you are linking to is indexed.
Another thing to keep in mind when it comes to gaining the help of link popularity is you should also have links back to your site from other websites which are promoting and focusing on the same sort of products/services that your business is offering. An example of why this is important is a sports site, which has links from a cookery site wouldn’t work due to the fact the target market for these two sites it, speaking stereotypically, completely different and someone looking for the latest recipes wouldn’t click a link that took them to a site promoting the latest sports news making the link pointless. You want to make sure that the sites that carry your link are along the same lines as your website so that you are attracting the same target market; giving your website more of a chance of having people visit it as a result of clicking said link.
There is a philosophy of link popularity, which is that important sites will attract many links and content-poor sites will have difficulty attracting any links. Also link popularity assumes that not all incoming links are equal, as an inbound link from a major directory carries more weight than an inbound link from an obscure personal home page. In other words, the quality of incoming links counts more than sheer numbers of them.
If you really want link popularity to work on your site it is important to ensure that you get your website looking and functioning to the best of its ability, which generally means that your website should be well written, provide useful information and be constantly up dated. If your sites are up to these standards then you won’t have to go looking for links due to the fact other sites will want to link to yours for their own benefit. This is more effective in the long run and is what will help your website get links the most.

Are you a business owner trying to figure out the whole blogging thing? Have you been wondering if it’s worth your time and effort to create a blog for your own business? By the end of this article, you’ll understand the many benefits and will be better able to decide if blogging is right for you.
Let’s start with a quick definition, just so we are all on the same page. A blog is simply a content-management system that allows you to publish information onto the Internet, quickly and easily. New information is typically added in reverse-chronological format, so that the most recent posts are always up top. The blogging program does most of the technical stuff for you.
10 Reasons to Start Blogging for Your Business
That’s about as far as I’ll go into the technical definition. You’ll learn more about the inner workings if and when you decide to start a blog for your business. This purpose of this article is to give you some good reasons to make that decision. So without further ado…
1. Easy Publishing Tool
Type your post for the day. Add some hyperlinks or images with the click of your mouse. Hit the “publish” button. You’ve just updated your blog with new information, and it’s live on the Internet. Once you install the program, it really is this easy to use.
2. Search Engine Visibility
Starting a blog will not magically propel you to the top of the search engine ranks, as many people seem to believe. But with that being said, a blog has certain benefits that help with search rankings. It’s easy to publish new content for one thing, and this is key to online visibility. Also, blogs are text-rich and cleanly coded right “out of the box,” so the search engines have an easy time crawling through them and finding new information.
3. Expertise / Authority
If you as the business owner can demonstrate your expertise within your industry, people will be more inclined to purchase your products or services. By publishing quality information on a regular basis, you can more easily establish such authority. In other words, you can use blogging to position yourself as a “thought leader” in your industry.
4. Makes Your Website Sticky
Who wants to revisit a website that never updates its content? Not me. This is another area where a business blog can benefit you. If you have a wealth of useful content on your website, and that content gets updated regularly, your visitors will stick around longer. This increases the chance they will contact you, purchase from you, subscribe to your newsletter, etc.
5. Potential for Conversation
Most blogging programs come with a comment feature built in. At the bottom of each post, readers can leave comments in a box provided for that purpose. So instead of the one-way communication of a traditional website (where I talk and you listen), you now have a two-way conversation taking place. You can probably see the business-building potential of this.
6. Potential for Leads
Can you generate leads and inquiries through a blog? Sure you can. We just talked about the two-way conversations that often takes place. When people fill out that comment form, they usually include their email address. There’s a lead source right there. People will also feel like they know you after reading your blog for a while, so they’ll be more inclined to contact you directly.
7. Return Visits
Blogging programs make it easy for people to stay in touch. For example, your visitors / readers can simply subscribe to your blog’s syndication feed to receive future updates automatically. There are also programs available that can convert your posts into an email newsletter format. That way, people can sign up to receive future posts just like signing up for any other e-newsletter. It’s a handy tool that can keep people coming back over and over again.
8. Versatility / Multipurpose
I already mentioned how you can use a certain type of “plugin” to allow readers to subscribe. In reality, there is a mind-boggling array of plugins available that can do all sorts of neat things. How you use your business blog is limited only by your imagination. Use it as a news add-on to your existing website, or use it as a full-featured website with pages in addition to posts.
9. Encourages Trust
Let’s face it. Consumers naturally distrust unfamiliar companies. And who can blame them? People hear the word “corporate” and think of Enron-like characters plotting schemes that screw the little guy while lining their own pockets. It’s a harsh reality, but a reality nonetheless.
How does a blog fit into this? Well, it makes you seem like a person instead of a company, for one thing. It shows you’re not afraid to step into the spotlight and speak with people about your business and your products. This is one of the reasons people like Bill Marriott (of the hotel chain) have started blogs in recent years.
10. Dare I Say Fun?
Do you enjoy sharing information about topics you know well? Do you like to write? Are you interested in web technologies and seeing your words published live on the Internet? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, there’s a good chance you will truly enjoy blogging. Who knows… you may even become addicted.
By Brandon Cornett
Very good article from Brandon Cornett. All the reasons hits home but especially for me the reason # 10… Blogging could be fun?  In the beginning, I didn’t think for a second that I would like to write on a blog…  I was constantly doubting myself…  I am going to write about what today?  At first, I was agonizing about that each day (I don’t miss thoses days!!)  but after a few weeks, that agonizing feeling went away… There is so much information that I can talk about.  Now, I have a hard time choosing the subject of the day! It is kind of addicted!  Try it, you never know!
Enjoy!

One of the easiest ways to start making money online is by joining the Adsense program by Google. Before going into how it works let me explain to you the rationale behind the Adsense program.

The Adsense program was built so that Advertisers can get their ads displayed on sites that are related to their product. This is done by the Adsense program itself, it determines the main keywords of a particular site and it displays ads that are relevant to that site. This not only benefits the website owner who would not only have a properly themed website coupled with relevant ads but also the Advertiser who wants their ads shown to the right visitors. For example, Car Loans ads would probably do well and receive more clicks in a car enthusiast website rather than a site with Hobbies and Crafts. This is called contextual advertising and is one of the more efficient ways by which Advertisers can get their product out there for everyone to see.
The question now is, how do you make money from Adsense? Well the first requirement in order to earn is to have a valid address by which you can receive the checks and the second one is to have a website which receives a respectable amount of traffic. Once you have all of those then you’re ready to start! Assuming that you have the two requirements all you really have to do now is to cleverly place the ads so that they blend in with your site. The greatest mistake that most people do is to make ads stand out. Site visitors nowadays have a trained eye to spot advertisements and it usually turns them away. In order to earn money you have to make them click on your ads! The way you do that is by blending those ads with your site. Not only would the ads look like a part of your content but it they will also be relevant to your site.
Once you clear out one month and you have a balance worth more than $100, Adsense sends a check to your address and you get instant money.
For some people this seems near impossible, but trust me, it is very possible and a huge amount of people are already doing this to pull in huge profits daily. You can do it too. Or you can go back to whatever it is that you were doing before.

Making money online is like a water pump?  You must be thinking…Â
What on earth is she talking about? This girl is seriously losing her marbles!
At first, I taught the same thing because I could not see the analogy… but now, it makes perfect sense!
Let me explain! Â
A water pump is for pumping water… you have to pump the handle up and down until you can see the water come out.  In most case, the water is at the bottom so at first, all you can see is a big nothing. Only the air is coming out… You keep pumping because you know that the water will be coming soon. After a while you can see as a result the water is pouring out. At this point you can’t even stop it if you wanted… Â
Making money online is like a water pump!  You have to pump the handle up and down until you can see the money come out. In most case, the money is at the bottom so at first, all you can see is a big nothing. Only no money is coming out… You have to work at it… But you just have to keep pumping, you know the money will be coming soon.  After a while and with the right knowledge you can see the result because the money will flow out of the pump.   Furthermore, at this point, you will not be able to stop it… and why would do want to?   If you’re not losing your marbles? ; )
So, at soon as I heard about this analogy and taught it was perfect to my situation for making money online.  I found myself a picture of a water pump… actually the one that you can see above and put it near my computer. Why? Because at any given moments if I find myself discourage, doubtful or losing momentum, I have a picture and a concept to remind me to never, never give up!  Keep pumping the water!Â
Enjoy!

Let’s look at your time management skills. Most of us have to work, and the more you can do in the least amount of time, the better. Working smarter frees you up so that not only do you have a job, but you have a life too!
Getting Back To Basics
The most useful “little helper” for business people must surely be the daily To Do list.
You have a couple of choices:
Write your list in the morning, as the first task at the commencement of your working day.
Step back a bit and take the time to do it before you finish up the night before - as your final flourish for the day. This helps to free your mind so that you don’t take your work home with you. Instead, you just leave it there to stew, all by itself, until you arrive next morning to take up the reins.
Write It Down
Effective time management means writing things down so you don’t waste your time worrying about what you’ve forgotten.
Avoid trying to create a To Do list in your head. It must, must, must be written down. And then left somewhere highly visible, such as your desk top. That’s why I suggest writing it in your diary, so you can juggle it with your other commitments.
An effective To Do list will almost always be updated during the day. It is not a static document. As your priorities alter with each crisis, your list will be a work in progress.
First of all, don’t be unrealistic. Steel yourself to list only the achievable projects and activities. If you are unable to complete a task on the designated day, simply transfer it to the next day or another suitable time in your diary. Look at the daily To Do list as the map that keeps you on track.
When you have written your list in the diary, go back and number each item in order of importance. Then, you can simply start with No. One and work your way through.
Your Work Book
In our busy working lives today, we are bombarded with so many different distractions that it is sometimes difficult to keep track of everything that’s going on, particularly if you work in an open-plan office.
Instead of recording on scraps of paper or sticky notes all the zillion thoughts that pass through your mind during these stressful periods, use an inexpensive spiral note book. Anything of importance that you write down can then be found again at a later date. Use it as an adjunct, or a companion, to your diary and as a great memory jogger.
You’ll find using a Work Book will help you focus your thoughts, remind yourself of past conversations and save time as you’ll no longer have to search for all those “back of envelope” notations.
Taming the Telephone
Murphy’s Law of Telephones and Deadlines means that when you are really pressed trying to complete a project on time, the telephone will take off, with a mind of its own.
The pro-active person will rejig their answering message to say something like this: “Hi, it’s Joe Bloggs. I’m unavailable right now however if you leave a message stating what your call is about, and the best time to phone you back, I’ll get in touch later in the day.”
On the other hand, if you have someone working with you who can screen your calls (lucky you) word them up to give a similar message. Asking what the call is about will help you assemble any relevant information before you call back. This will enable you to better plan your day, to return all calls sooner and more effectively.
The Final Word
Keep your time management systems simple because the simpler they are the more likely you will use them. Doing the basics will help you work smarter, not harder.
Have a great week!

My taughts on this subject are at the bottom of this article… Pascale
There are times I lay in bed at night thinking up new moneymaking ideas or business ideas. I am sure it is the same with you if your a fellow Internet marketer. As soon as I waken up in the morning I am itching to get to my computer and start working on my new idea.
Laying in bed dreaming of starting a business and making it a success is what many a Newbie (someone new to business) does. A hundred and one business and money making ideas whirl around in there heads, and they can’t decide which one to go with, so they go with two or three ideas.
I don’t need to tell you that being a ‘NEWBIE’ isn’t easy. But in order to succeed you need to have the courage to take on the ‘BIG GUY’S’ the so called ‘GURUS’ the major players at there own game.
Some people out there would say, “The right thing to do is go for the small niche market option and forget taking the ‘BIG GUY’S’ on because you can’t win in a month of Sundays”.
Well I would say forget the small niche markets that have limited potential. Yes you will more or less have the niche to yourself, but running an internet business is no walk in the park and your options will be limited..Â
For a start you have to decide exactly what sort of business your going to get involved in from the thousands of opportunities out there on the net. Do you take the easy route and go for the small niches that aren’t overexposed and run with them or do you take the difficult route and aim your business at the major niches?
You need to find out who is and where they are making the big money and just jump in at the deep end. Believe me yes it will be a steep learning curve but you stand more chance of making decent amounts of money from an over exposed niche than you would a small limited Niche market.
Also do remember the Internet is a huge playing ground and market that has plenty of room for everyone, even Newbies. Yes the big guys, the gurus may not like you stepping on there toes but hey, surely you want to be a guru yourself one day so don’t be afraid to take them on at there own game.
Yes in the beginning there will be times when you fail more than you succeed but as long as you keep plodding on and making sure that you learn by your mistakes then that is all that matters.
You see one of, if not the biggest mistakes a lot of Newbies make is that they make things harder for themselves than they have to be. Look there is no need to try to reinvent the wheel. Just do your research find what works and who is doing it and copy them. I don’t mean to the point of copy right infringement by the way.
That is the real secret to success in any business not just Internet marketing by the way.
If your a Newbie then you need to do a number of things in order to succeed.
1) Do your homework.
2) Find what works and copy it.
3) Pick only one business idea at a time to work on.
4) Don’t be a business hopper, hoping from one business idea to another, to another and so on.
5) Be patient and give things time to work. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
6) Never spend what you haven’t got.
7) Selling your own products is the real secret to success, take the time to learn how to create your own products.
Make sure that you learn from your own mistakes.
9) Never be afraid to ask for help and never think a question is silly or be afraid to ask questions you deem to be amateurish. We all had to start somewhere and yes we have all asked what we thought at the time was silly questions but if you don’t know something then how are you going to learn anything if you don’t ask.
10) Build up a resource of useful websites, products or services as you build your business. Always be looking out for things that can be of use to you now or in the future. Particularly if there free.
11) Never buy anything on impulse always shop around. If there is a product you come across that you want to buy then book mark the page so you can find it again and go away and see if you can find it cheaper elsewhere.
The above is just a few helpful tips from someone with over twenty years business experience. Of course there is a lot more that you can be doing or learning but follow the advice above and you can’t go far wrong.
